The right candidate will have 4 years of experience in piping in chemical plants and/or refineries. NCCER certification as a pipefitter or passing the Starcon Craft Assessment. You are responsible for the layout, fit-up, and construction of piping systems. You will field-determine measurements, fabricate, modify, and/or revise piping per sketches and isometric drawings. You will select the type and size of pipe and related materials according to the job specifications. You will be required to cut pipe using a hacksaw, a pipe cutter, a hammer and chisel, a cutting torch, and a pipe cutting machine. You are responsible for threading pipe using a threading machine. You will assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metallic pipes and fittings. You will fabricate structural steel and various styles of pipe supports. You will test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in the pipes and observing gauges attached to them for indications of leaks.
