Job Description:
Specialty Superintendent

To lead and manage all instrumentation and electrical activities across industrial job sites, ensuring

safe, efficient, and code-compliant execution of work. The I&E Superintendent oversees field

operations, coordinates with project management and engineering teams, and ensures that all

systems—electrical and instrumentation—are installed, maintained, and commissioned to meet

project specifications and regulatory standards.

Work Environment:

The normal work environment will be in an industrial facility where exposure to outdoor weather

conditions is possible and where proper PPE is required for a variety of potential hazards.

? May require extended hours, weekend work, or shift flexibility depending on project

demands.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities of an I&E Superintendent may include, but are not limited to, the

following items:

? Supervise and coordinate Instrumentation & Electrical teams across multiple job sites or

large-scale projects.

? Plan and schedule I&E work to meet project milestones and deadlines.

? Review and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and

specifications.

? Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, client standards, OSHA regulations, and

company safety policies.

? Oversee installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems including transmitters,

control valves, analyzers, and PLCs.

? Manage electrical installations including power distribution, motor control centers (MCCs),

and grounding systems.

? Conduct site audit & inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety.

? Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve field issues and

maintain workflow.

? Maintain accurate documentation including daily reports, timekeeping, material tracking,

and change orders.

? Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for I&E personnel.

? Mentor foremen and technicians, promoting technical development and safe work

practices.
