Collect and analyze cost data from past and current projects for cost history database Compile estimates from each discipline and compare scopes between disciplines to ensure that no overlaps or gaps exist Research market to establish labor availability, appropriate wage rates, material and equipment costs Visit project locations to investigate actual site conditions, as required Assist in the solicitation, qualification and evaluation of subcontractors’ bids Develop clarification and proposal assumptions for every estimate Communicate details of proposal to project management and staff for execution of the work Direct and develop Estimator A and Estimator B Fully participate in health, safety, quality and environmental processes Is an ambassador for STARCON to the client, other contractors and the public
o10 years construction estimating experience orequivalent
oThorough knowledge of estimating systems,principles and practices including the ability to solve complex pricing issues,implement procedures and maintain liaison with multiple organizations.
oGeneral knowledge of Primavera “P3”
ooBasic knowledge of cost controls and subcontractadministration.
oReadand understand specifications and other bid documents
oCreatingsubcontractor bid packages
oBuildingwork breakdown structures
oBasicunderstanding of purchasing
oMusttake the equivalent of three days continuing education annually
oPeriods of walking andstanding with some light lifting of boxes or office equipment.
- Must be able to pass applicable site-specific training.
- Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.
- Must complete the appropriate safety/environmental training required for the position and location.
- Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels, and permits in English.
