Field Planner A: This Project will require field planner skills to walk out and define activities to preform each work list item to be performed. Identify all support craft scope (i.e. Scaffolds, insulation, electrical, instrumentation, paint, NDE, rotating etc.), resource load and estimate the duration. Also identify the sequence of work to best perform all activities, Input collected date into provided Excel or SAP based planning tool and build job detailed package. Must have good communication skills, basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook, Work, Excel etc.), This is the standard requirements but not limited to. The Field Planner generally works closely with client representatives and must project a professional attitude and appearance at all times. They must promote STARCON in a positive manner, develop a partnering relationship with the client to reduce the client’s costs, and improve safety and reliability.


This is a local position. No per diem is available.

Job Description:

Roles & Responsibilities:


The roles and responsibilities of the Field Planner may include, but are not limited to, the following:


• Responsible for building the STARCON culture, articulating the STARCON vision, and demonstrating his/her commitment to these principles by continually reinforcing the underlying values to all team members.

• Ability to function as field planner and estimator on STARCON or client project.

• Develops and maintains field job files for assigned project, collects installed quantities, assesses progress data and conducts field verification.

• Supports project supervision through preparation and maintenance of forecasts and schedules.

• Develop detailed job plans with construction management. May assemble data from a variety of sources including A/E, client engineering and other contractors.

• Interface with other construction departments to provide scheduling data for items such as subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and resolution of potential schedule/work conflicts.

• Provides supervision and/or on-the-job training to assigned clerical and entry-level team members.

• Fully participate in health, safety, quality, and environmental processes.


Qualification Guidelines:


• Experience:

• Five years construction scheduling experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.


•Skills:

• Working knowledge of planning and scheduling systems, principles and practices to select/apply resource monitoring and control techniques such as CPM scheduling networks, computer scheduling techniques, as well as an understanding of the nature of process systems, structures and construction technology required.

• Good interpersonal communication and analytical problem solving skills.

• Applicable knowledge of field tasks and man hours/durations.

• Should have applicable knowledge of computers, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.


•Education/Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Formal Primavera P6 training and certification.

• Must take the equivalent of three days continuing education annually.

• Willing to attend and complete training applicable to job.


•Licensures/Clearances:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• May require a TWIC card.


• Physical:

• Must comply with STARCON’s drug and alcohol policy.

• Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.


•Safety/Environmental:

• Must be able to pass applicable site-specific training.

• Knowledge of refinery and chemical plant hazards which may require special precautions and PPE, such as Sulfuric, H2S, and HF.

• Must complete the appropriate safety/environmental training required with the position and location.

• CPR and 1st Aid trained, when required.

• Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels, and permits in English.
